Regarded by many to this day as the greatest hockey player to ever lace up a pair of skates, the name Gordie Howe is synonymous with the game loved and played by so many across the world. In a career that spanned over five different decades from 1946-71 and 1973-80, fans and players alike will still find Howe’s name near the top of the all-time leaderboards all these years late. Presented here is this original painting done by noted hockey artist Carleton “Mac” McDiarmid. The hand done piece has been signed and inscribed by Howe as well as inscribed across the bottom with his famous “Mr. Hockey” moniker with his famed number nine accompanying the inscription. The signature has been made out “To Felix, Warmest regards, best always.” McDiarmid has signed the piece in the bottom left corner. Housed in a metal gold frame and measuring out to approximately 14 ¼” x 12 ½”, the piece is matted with a maroon colour matte. The artwork itself measures out to approximately 8” x 9”. The frame remains in good condition with only light wear such as minor scuffing found throughout. Overall, this piece would make a distinguished addition to your collection.
