One of the most famed members of the hockey system created by the Soviet Union where Igor Larionov would find himself dominating at both the domestic and international levels, Larionov would take his talents to North America and the National Hockey League with the Vancouver Canucks for the start of the 1989-90 season. After 3 challenging seasons of adjusting to left outside of the Iron Curtain in Vancouver and a 1 year stop in Switzerland, Larionov would find himself traded to the Red Wings from the San Jose Sharks part way through the 1995-96 season and become a member of the famed “Russian Five” with teammates Kozlov, Fedorov, Fetisov, and Konstantinov where they would help bring the Cup back to Hockeytown in back-to-back seasons of 1997 and 98. Larionov would add a third cup in 2002. These size 9 Bauer Supreme 7000 skates were worn by Larionov during the 1999-00 season with the Detroit Red Wings where he would 47 points in 79 games. Signed on both blade holders in visually stunning bold blue Sharpie marker, these Larionov skates present well with game wear present throughout particularly on the tongue where the red and white fluff of the Red Wings socks can be found. Puck marks and scuffs on the blade holders and tape to the blades are accompanied by “DRW 8” on the underside of each skate in black fine point marker. Toe caps have been sealed. A Hockeytown Authentics sticker is affixed to the inside of the left skate with an accompanying COA from the Red Wings included (the hologram is a bit loose and shows wear).
