Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
The 2003-04 National Hockey League season would see the “Magic Man”, Pavel Datsyuk, take great strides to become one of the best and most creative puck handlers the game has ever seen, as the young Russian would post the highest shot percentage of his career in ‘03-04, netting 30 goals while adding helpers on 38 others, with 68 points in 75 games played. Offered here is a pair of signed and photo-matched skates that Datsyuk would lace up during that same 2003-04 campaign while playing with Detroit. Size 10 Easton Z-Air models with intact lacing, Datsyuk signed each skate on the inside section of each blade holder in bold black Sharpie, while on the outside of the left blade holder you will find the original retail price sticker from the Red Wings team shop as well as the Hockeytown Authentics hologram numbered “32327”. Wear includes scuffing and puck marks throughout, particularly on the blade holders, as well as cracking and material loss on both skate boots. Other wear includes cuts and fabric fraying. There is also a small amount of silicone to each blade. Getty Image #52388431 (2003-04) has been matched to wear to the material just to the right of the toe section on the inside area of the right skate, with marks to the blade holder also matching, while Getty Image #2786090 (Nov 3, 2003) has been matched to a number of wear marks on the outside section of the left skate, with the mark to the front of the blade holder also visible. The image is also matched to wear to the material just to the right of the toe section on the inside area of the right skate, with marks to the blade holder also matching. A matching team COA will accompany.
