Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
The last member of the Toronto Maple Leafs to win the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP, Ted Kennedy was also the first player in history – along with Turk Broda – to be crowned a five-time Stanley Cup champion. Serving as captain of the blue and white for eight seasons, Teeder was ranked the all-time #1 face-off man by a poll of Sports Illustrated hockey experts in 1998. This lot contains a trio of matching oversized photos signed by Kennedy and fellow deceased HOFer Milt Schmidt, along with an additional three oversized photos signed by Kennedy. At 11” x 14”, Kennedy and Schmidt are pictured at center ice, with each signing the black and white photos beneath their respective images in blue sharpie. The remaining three 11” x 14” photos include two matching in colour that show Kennedy in his Leafs captain’s jersey, signed in blue sharpie, while the final photo depicts Teeder posing with the Stanley Cup, with the black and white image again signed in blue sharpie. All six photos show light wear with each somewhat "rolled", and are ideal candidates for framing.
