Visions of GEM MINT rookie cards of the Hall of Famers in our title may very well be prompted by the sight of this captivating offering, the contents involving 48 O-Pee-Chee hockey card packs issued over 35 years ago. The late, great Clark Gillies, a four-time Stanley Cup champion, is featured on the big beautiful double brick-size box and helps to show the design that has made 1984-85s hobby favorites over the years. Of course, also helping is the marvelous rookie card lineup, led by Steve Yzerman. In this day and age of many collectors’ quest for high grade rookies, “GEM MT 10” indeed comes to mind. Perfect examples of the HOFer RCs would be exciting to come upon if you win the bidding and decide to open some or all of the 48 packs contained inside the box, the likes of which cost 35 cents each back in the day. That was an increase from the previous 25 cents but packs included more cards (15) than their predecessors (10). Bright vivid colors throughout are impressive, with a lightly dinged left corner (upper front), a speck of color loss along the left edge further up the box top and a couple of small scuffs to the lid to note. The bottom of the box exhibits light wear at the corners and a scotch tape stain from once having been stored on top of another box. Packs were recently inspected and confirmed as having not been opened by unopened authority Baseball Card Exchange, with a BBCE label and certification number affixed to the shrink wrap that now envelops the jackpot – good luck in acquiring it!
