Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Comprised of seven American teams from the Midwest, the 1930-31 Amateur Hockey Association 48-game season witnessed the Tulsa Oilers finish in first-place. The Kansas City Pla-Mors would defeat the Duluth Hornets in the semifinals, with the finals featuring Tulsa vs Kansas City, with the latter taking the series in four games. This Chicago Stadium program was produced for a Chicago Shamrocks match-up vs Kansas City in 1930-31. Sporting an intact line-up along with cameo images of Shamrock players and short biographies including Mike Karakas, the vintage program also contains a full-page Planert Skates advertisement picturing Black Hawks netminders Hughie Lehman and Charlie Gardiner. Heavier wear is present, with the front and back covers detached, with some toning to the interior pages and rusting to the staples. Owned by HOF builder James E Norris, the Shamrocks would see action in only two AHA seasons, 1930-31, and in 1931-32, when they won the league championship.
