Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

The first time in NHL history Lord Stanley’s coveted trophy ventured south of the border, the 1927-28 NHL season featured 10 clubs playing a 44-game schedule, with the New York Rangers defeating the Montreal Maroons in the Stanley Cup final. Hailing from early in the season, we offer an Ottawa Auditorium program for the Nov 29, 1927 clash between the current Stanley Cup champion Ottawa Senators, and the eventual champion New York Rangers. Picturing North America’s most famous trophy on the cover along with listing the date and opponents, the 15-page program is complete and includes the line-ups for each club, along with a full-page photo of the 1927 Stanley Cup champion Sens. Won by the Blueshirts 2-1 with HOFer Bill Cook scoring the game winner, the program shows just light wear with minor toning along with a vertical fold – typical for programs from the era, as patrons would fold them in half to easily fit into back pockets.
