Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Catalysts of the Maple Leafs blue line in the 1930’s, King Clancy and Red Horner were key cogs in the wheel that led Toronto to a Stanley Cup championship in 1932, with both elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame, in 1958 and 1965 respectively. Some of the greatest to ever play, Clancy passed away in 1986, while Horner, became the last surviving member of the 1932 team, passing in 2005. Offered here, is this Toronto Maple Leafs CCM Classic Sweaters jersey with a cut featuring the signatures of both Clancy and Horner embedded into the back number. In new-with-tags condition, the front of the size “L” garment has been styled with a felt Maple Leafs crest with individual blue felt letters sewn on below a tie-up neck. The reverse of the jersey has been decorated with Clancy’s number “7”, with the CCM logo embroidered into the rear hem. The cut displaying Clancy and Horner’s signatures has been into the top of the number, with the autographs signed in fountain pen and displaying without issue. A hologram is affixed alongside the number, with the piece also accompanied by a JSA LOA.
