Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

Paramount contributors to the potent Red Wings teams that won a record seven consecutive regular season titles and four Stanley Cup championships during the period, Gordie Howe and Red Kelly appear on their rookie cards here, with both examples having recently been graded 4 VGE by KSA. They are definitely the major "drawing cards" of this group of 1951-52 Parkies, since the vast majority of the raw entries (all but seven) mirror that of Terry Sawchuk's RC, slabbed 1 FP. Varying amounts of paper loss on the front, (like towards the bottom of the Sawchuk rookie), or scotch tape, along with varying degrees of creasing and corner wear make for a low grade contingent for sure, with our images giving you a good idea of the overall state. Without paper loss but multi-creased and also Poor are 81-Max Bentley (torn on the reverse), 93-Raleigh RC and 94-Stanley RC, while four Red Wings make it to the G to VG range. Consider the raw stack bonuses and complements to Gordie and Red, is our thought. Numerous important cards are among those not present, including 1-Lach and 52-The Winning Goal, as well as rookie cards of Bouchard, Richard, Harvey, Geoffrion, McNeil, Doug Bentley and Lindsay.
