Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
Beginning as a Memorial Cup winner in 1944, superstar Ted Lindsay earned considerable hardware throughout his HOF career with Detroit and Chicago including four Stanley Cup championships along with the Art Ross Trophy in 1950. Originating from his personal collection, we have a “Sports Guild Trophy” that was presented to Mr Lindsay in 1948. At a distinguished two feet in height, an athlete with laurel wreath is mounted over a pedestaled trophy bowl which sits atop a tiered base – possibly Bakelite or Catalin – with a plaque affixed with the engraved particulars including “The Sports Guild Trophy", “Awarded to Ted Lindsay for outstanding performance in hockey” and “1948”. The large keepsake displays majestically and sports surface wear throughout along with oxidation to the metal components, with scratches also visible including to the engraved plaque. An LOA from the Lindsay family will accompany.
