Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
From his lone season with the Toronto St Michael Majors before entering hockey stardom with the Detroit Red Wings, Ted Lindsay saw action in 22 games with the OHA Jr club during the war in 1943-44, scoring an impressive 29 points. Originating from his personal collection, we have a pair of framed 1943-44 Toronto St Michael Majors hockey photos featuring Ted Lindsay. First, we have a full team photo. At 10” x 12” (exposed) and double-matted and framed to 14 ½” x 16”, the composite image features bust-length shots of the full team including Lindsay, with each player listed beneath his respective image, with “1944” above and “OHA Junior A Finalists” below (the photo appears in beautiful condition with no issues). The second photo is 8” x 10”, and set in a frame to slightly larger dimensions, with the club seen posed together in a celebratory dressing room moment (a few wrinkles and creases are visible, with additional wear to the period frame). As an added bonus, a modern framed print of Lindsay with the 1944 Memorial Cup Champion Oshawa Generals is also included (13” x 15”), along with an LOA from the Lindsay family.
