Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Beginning life as a New York Islanders sweater from early in the franchise’s existence, with use attributed to NHL and WHA draft selection Andre St Laurent during his rookie season of 1973-74, this jersey was later recycled to the CHL Fort Worth Texans sometime during the mid-1970s. Rawlings labeling with “48” sizing is affixed to the collar. Styled with a circular and fully embroidered Texans team crest, “21” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with a loop-style fight strap utilized. Sporting no signs of alterations to the numbers and with no evidence of a former team crest, the outline of the original Islanders team crest can be seen on the interior. Heavy use is visible as expected, with considerable wear, marks, scrapes and pulls to the material throughout, with heavy pilling to the interior sleeves. Three team repairs are also present on the front.
