Well this is a real treat from the Montreal Canadiens’ 100th anniversary celebrations. Four-time Stanley Cup champion Peter Mahovlich was among the illustrious Habs alumni team that took to the ice at Bell Centre prior to Montreal’s “Centennial Game” against the Boston Bruins on December 4, 2009. Offered from Pete’s personal collection is the multi-signed game stick he used during that magnificent pregame warmup session, which featured the likes of Guy Lafleur, Steve Shutt, Vincent Damphousse, Larry Robinson, Claude Lemieux, Bob Gainey, Serge Savard, Yvan Cournoyer, Stephane Richer, Guy Carbonneau, Guy Lapointe, Pierre Turgeon, as well as Pete and his HOF brother, Frank, taking to the ice and firing shots at Patrick Roy and Ken Dryden. Lafleur and Shutt, Pete’s linemates when he had consecutive 100-point seasons with the Canadiens in the 1970s, have each signed along with Mahovlich in bold black marker on the shaft of his Sher-Wood PMP SC 5030 stick with Peter’s original tape jobs on the blade and knob that displays the special Sher-Wood “Match du Centennaire” Centennial Game label wrapped around the lower shaft. “Mahovlich 20” is stamped on the shaft of this one-of-a-kind treasure that comes with Pete’s signed LOA.
