Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
A charming scene familiar with all those who grew up loving the game of hockey, Steven Houston has captured the fantasies of young boys on the outdoor rink living out their Stanley Cup dreams while sporting the uniforms of the famed Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens while dad floods and cares for the ice. Beautifully done, the piece has been heightened even further by pencil signatures along the bottom from Maurice Richard, Frank Mahovlich and Johnny Bower with all the signatures bold and legible. Serial numbered “346/950” at the far left, Houston has penned his signature in matching pencil at the far right underneath the main image. Double matted under white and grey and housed in a bluish grey coloured wooden frame with full dimensions coming out to approx. 30” x 27”, the frame displays moderate wear to the corners and edges via dings and black marks. Hailing from the personal collection of Brian Glennie, a signed family LOA will accompany.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occur during shipping.
