Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

A longtime member of the famous CSKA Moscow squad throughout the late-1980s, Valeri Kamensky made his NHL debut with Quebec, and transitioned with the club when they relocated to Colorado, winning a Stanley Cup championship in 1996. The Russian star also represented his nation throughout his career. From his second and final season in the Big Apple with New York, we have a Rangers jersey worn by the 1988 Olympic gold medal winner during the first half of the 2000-01 season. A CCM label and size “56” fly tag is affixed to the collar, with CCM and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with “Rangers” arching across the chest in layered, drop-shadow tackle twill, “13” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with the team’s 75th season patch residing on the right shoulder. Sporting heavy wear throughout with numerous puck and stick marks along with burns, scrapes and small holes, team repairs are also present, with seven examples over the sleeves. Getty Image #53128131 (Nov 27, 2000) appears to shows the long stick mark beneath the team crest, with additional marks on the right elbow and beneath the front band that also may match, but the image isn't clear enough to be called a definitive photo-match. The “Set 1” team patch resides on the inside hem, with a team LOA to accompany and with a COR from MeiGray.
