Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

Awarded the prestigious Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy during the 2012-13 NHL season with Minnesota, goaltender Josh Harding began his pro career in the AHL with Houston, and we offer a photo-matched mask worn by the Regina native during his first season in 2004-05 – with this likely his very first pro mask. Produced by Itech with company logos at each side and featuring a menacing black, white and silver design with open mouth and sharp teeth, the paint scheme is by Hart Designs, with a signature over the backplate along with “Hards 37”, “37” decal and US flag. The mask shows especially heavy use throughout with a number of chips, marks and abrasions to the surface, with a crack to the material over the chin and soiling to the chin guard and interior padding. Getty Image #51625596 (Oct 15, 2004) has been matched to the two distinct white marks over the forehead, with their size and placement identical. The small area of missing paint just beneath the very center of the bottom of the cage is also visible, while Getty Image #1155769550 (March 7, 2005) appears to show the discoloured area where the upper left bolt attaches the cage, but the image is not clear enough to call a definitive photo-match.
