Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
A Philadelphia Flyers draft selection in 1988, goaltender Dominic Roussel witnessed eight seasons of NHL action with four different clubs, including Philly, Anaheim, Winnipeg and Edmonton. From his lone season with the Oilers where he played in just 8 regular season games, we have a mask worn by the Hull native in 2000-01, acquired by our consignor directly from Roussel through another party. A Jerry Wright Itech model with his torn sticker affixed to the interior and featuring an oil rig paint scheme with Oilers logo and “30” over the chin section, the artist Frank Cipra has signed and dated the interior, with a few emblems affixed to the backplate including an NHL shield logo. Worn for a short time with the club, the heavier wear most likely originates from practice use, with numerous marks and surface chips present, with some minor soiling to the mouth guard. Roussel has signed the bottom left side of the chin section in black marker, and we should note that his 2001-02 Be A Player hockey card shows him wearing this mask.
