Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Mentioned by Stan Fischler as a young and attractive woman that would snap photos of players from her seat at Madison Square Garden in his book; New York Rangers: Greatest Moments and Players, super fan Ella B. Clifton “amassed voluminous scrapbooks”, as well as a “photographic history of the Rovers” (New York). Originating from the incomparable autograph collection of E. Robert Hamlyn, we have a real photo postcard of the 1938-39 New York Rangers, along with five signed letters from Ella B. Clifton. Originating from the mid-1940s, each letter has Ella’s Brooklyn address, with the bulk of the correspondence centering around hockey. The Rangers postcard is in low grade, with heavy creasing/surface lines, with paper glued to the reverse.
