Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Getting his start as a professional in the KHL, Nail Yakupov was selected first overall by the Edmonton Oilers at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and made his debut on Jan 20, 2013, scoring his first NHL goal in the following game, on Jan 22nd. The 2012 year also witnessed Yakupov represent his native Russia at the World Juniors where they advanced to the gold medal game against Sweden. This signed stick was used by the star at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Calgary. A Warrior Widow model, “Yakupov” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft, with the original white tape on the blade and black on the handle, with reinforcing white strand added beneath with “10” handwritten. Nice game-use is exhibited with wear to the taped section of blade and marks along with some minor chipping to the lower shaft. The Yak Attack has added a black marker signature to the front side of the blade, and it appears somewhat light from a weak marker.
