Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

Oh!, to own a ’52 Topps Mickey Mantle baseball card – a majority of the baseball card collecting community would love to, with your chance at a respectable lower grade example available here. The most recognizable, important and valuable gum card of the post-war era – a hobby icon – is on the auction block, with the story of 1952 Topps cards and the elusive high numbers, including famous #311 starring a young Mickey Mantle, well-known to hobbyists. This example is the #311A version, (with a clean top edge of the marquee on the front, the last “e” of the facsimile autograph curling upward and the stitching on the back number circle pointing left), and has been graded FR 1.5 by PSA. With an image right of center, the card exhibits light creasing below the budding star’s chin, with a light crease descending from near the middle of the top edge to attain Mickey’s right eye. A diagonal crease is in both the upper left and lower right corner regions. Rounding at the corners is obvious but there are no tears, writing, holes or other major flaws. An attractive low grade ’52 Topps card of The Mick, one of baseball’s most loved and most famous legends is deserving of considerable consideration.
