Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

Drafted by the Boston Bruins in 1964 and traded to the Montreal Canadiens just 17 days later, Ken Dryden was under the impression that he was drafted by the Habs, and wasn’t told until years later by his agent that he was actually selected originally by Boston. Enjoying one of the shortest but most memorable HOF careers in history as a six-time Stanley Cup champion in parts of just eight seasons, Dryden had his #29 retired by the Canadiens, never to be worn again. Originating from his jersey retirement night on Jan 29, 2007 and sporting the “29” retirement crest, we have a Canadiens jersey issued to Habs centerman Steve Begin signed by Dryden (Begin did not take part in the ceremony or play in the game, with the jersey an unworn issued specimen). A label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar with “22” handwritten, with an NHL crest over the reverse hem. Styled with the classic Habs team crest with Ken’s “29” sewn to the sleeves and verso and “Dryden” over the affixed nameplate in single white twill, the 1971 Conn Smythe winner has added a blue marker signature to the reverse “9” along with a personalization to Begin, with the signature showing heavy bleeding. An LOA signed by Steve Begin will accompany.
