Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Formed as the London Panthers in 1926 and first playing in the CPHL, the team was renamed the London Tecumsehs in 1930 and saw action in the IHL for six seasons before disbanding, and won the IHL title in 1934. We have an original panoramic photo of the 1931-32 London Tecumsehs, with a number of notable NHL players featured. At approx 8” x 25”, the glossy stock image pictures the full team lined up, with each player listed beneath his image, including original Detroit Cougar and later Chicago Black Hawks coach Clem Loughlin, first-season New York Ranger Ollie Reinikka, Bruins, Leafs & Senators star Eric Pettinger, and 1926 Stanley Cup champion Albert Holway. Others that spent time in the NHL include Leo Quennville, Mike Neville, Roland Huard, Hal Hicks and Val "Vic" Hoffinger. The photo exhibits heavy wear throughout with numerous vertical creases – most likely from being previously rolled, with toning and wrinkling also visible. The photo has been set within a two-sided 9” x 28” frame.
