Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Hailing from the largest hockey family in history as one of six brothers to all grace the NHL, Brent Sutter enjoyed a lengthy career shared between the New York Islanders and Chicago Black Hawks. This Islanders captain’s jersey was worn by Sutter circa 1989-91 after inheriting the “C” from Denis Potvin. Most likely originating from 1990-91, the jersey is photo-matched to his 1991-92 Bowman hockey card. The large block CCM logo and NHL shield sit on the right rear hem and size “52” is handwritten on the Maska flag tag in the back of the collar. Solid game wear includes red paint transfer on rear tail and the “2” on the right sleeve as well as black marks and unrepaired holes on both sleeves and the front and rear tail and pilling inside the sleeves at the elbows. Comes with a MeiGray Vintage LOA.
The photo-match to Sutter’s 1991-92 Bowman hockey card includes the partially washed-out blacked mark in the "Y" of the "NY" on the team crest, the partially washed-out black mark on the lower right area of the team crest, and the large black diagonal mark in the white band on the lower right front area below the small holes in the blue portion of the jersey. The washed-out black mark on the lower right area of the team crest also shows on Sutter’s 1991-92 Pro Set Platinum card and both cards will be included with this awesome Islanders captain’s gamer.
