Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/27/2021
While personal items from NHL players are always sought by collectors, those private keepsakes hailing from especially noteworthy Hall of Fame legends are highly valued – especially specimens signed by those long deceased. This small daily diary belonged to iconic defenceman Tim Horton, and it features an attractive signature along with numerous entries in his hand. At just over 3” x 4”, the small red leather booklet sports “1962” in gilt on the cover, with Horton signing the “Personal Memoranda” page in blue ballpoint, adding his contemporary address and phone number. A few phone numbers of Leafs players are present including Eddie Shack, “George” (Armstrong?) and “Simmons” (Don Simmons). A number of scores from Leafs games are also listed, along with pay with bonuses. There are also entries that appear to be by others (a few pages have been torn out as well). The booklet shows moderate wear with pencil marks to the cover.
