Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Mr. Hockey stars in this swell array, with vintage and modern Parkhurst cards among the highlights. Two crease-free 1962-63 Parkies each have four fuzzy corners and don’t quite make it to EX in our book, at VG-EX+, with #31 also affected by wax staining on the front. With similar characteristics but no stains is a ’62-63 Tally Card that lists Gordie Howe on the front, the latter with evidence of pencil marks having been (mostly) erased and no such issues on the sharp, clean back. Gordie’s classic autograph appears on a special “Lucky Autograph Card” from a ’94-95 Parkhurst “Missing Link” issue, with a special five-card Mr. Hockey insert set from the following year chronicling Gordie’s without-parallel career. A splendid autographed “Heroes” card from Upper Deck’s ’92-93 effort features three tasteful artistic renditions of Gordie, with a “different” hologram on the back differentiating it from a regular card and confirming that it was pulled from a pack, while a throw-in is a ’70-71 O-Pee-Chee card with two staple holes near the top edge. A doubled-matted/sunken autographed puck display (13” x 21”) includes a dandy color shot of the legend, with lapel pins and an engraved plaque joining the signed Red Wings souvenir puck, with some smudging to the gold ink signature to note. Completing are two wonderful Bradford Exchange porcelain plates (just over 8” in diameter) featuring the artwork of Glenn Green (Record 545th Goal) and Rob MacDougall and still in their original boxes, with paperwork/COAs present. Lots of eye candy offers several options.
