Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

A 1987-88 O-Pee-Chee hockey card set of 264 and some nifty autographed cards are the focal point of this offering, with a bit of edge chipping observed on an otherwise NM Luc Robitaille rookie and the accompanying cards, housed in old Enor 9-pocket pages, appearing to be mostly in the EX-MT to NM range, with some lower/higher and some toned borders (Roy) and backs also spotted – check our images. An interesting rookie card roster (of 44) includes Oates, Hextall, Tocchet, Ranford, Vernon, Claude Lemieux, Damphousse, Tikkanen, McSorley, Richer and still more, with Joe Sakic, Brian Leetch and Theoren Fleury RCs amid an apparent complete 330-card set from ’89-90. Take note though, all (‘89-90) cards exhibit uneven warping, possibly rectifiable by storing in pages/a binder. Also presented to us as complete is a 528-card gathering from ’90-91, with edge toning and a curvature observed. The aforementioned autographed and other cards include three signed by Pavel Bure, a ’72-73 OPC Frank Mahovlich (VG-EX) card with a stellar blue ballpoint signature, five signed by Ryan Walter and a few others by former Vancouver Canucks; McLean (2), Ronning and Lidster. There’s also a 400-count box jammed with hockey and baseball cards from the early-‘90s, with nothing too exciting but possibly a few fun surprises. Close to a dozen 8” by 10” photos and a couple of magazines all involve former longtime NHLer Ryan Walter.
