Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
The first player in Carolina Hurricanes franchise history to be crowned the top rookie and be awarded the Calder Memorial Trophy, Jeff Skinner was the youngest player in the NHL during his inaugural campaign in 2010–11, and is the youngest player ever to play in the NHL All-Star Game - as well as any All-Star game within the four major North American sports leagues. From his recent time in Buffalo, we have a stick used by Skinner circa 2020, with this specific type of model seeing use in 2019-20 and 2020-21. A Bauer Vapor model with “Skinner” factory graphics, the original heavily-waxed white tape clings to the blade while the now-tattered dark cloth wrap over the handle exhibits tears and wear. The lower shaft has been whited-out – with this seen on many Skinner game sticks, with good game-use exhibited including puck marks to the front side blade and wear to the shaft.
