Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
A marvelous example of Bobby Orr’s 1969-70 Topps card is offered here and was issued during the young star’s dream season in which he made history, becoming the first defenceman to win the NHL scoring championship, totaling 33 goals and 120 points. The playoffs were also memorable as Bobby scored his famous goal to give Boston its first Stanley Cup title in 29 years. Orr’s Conn Smythe Trophy gave him an unheard-of four major individual awards for the season. Card #24 mentions how Bobby was “already the NHL’s “Mr. Everything” and received alluring NM-MT 8 recognition at PSA. Well over 500 such Orr cards have been slabbed by PSA over the years, with just 24 scoring higher than NM-MT 8. A great chance to score Orr, (the most important contributor to Topps’ 132-card issue in ’69-70), with a light half-inch scratch to the front of the PSA holder to note.
