Always a hit with collectors, with many who grew up during the 1960s recapturing the nostalgic magic the dolls once bestowed, we offer a collection of four late-1960s baseball gold base bobbleheads, including examples for the Mets, Phillies, Giants and Reds. At 7” in height and produced during the 1966 to 1971 time period, with each featuring a Sports Specialty label affixed to the underside, the group displays nicely overall. The Mets doll sport’s wear to the uniform and cap decals, with a pinhole and minor chipping to the base. The head also has a few crack and chips along with areas that appear repaired/repainted. The Phillies doll has a few paint chips to the base, with a bit of small damage behind the right elbow, with some additional chipping to the brim of the cap and cracks to the back of the head. The Giants doll has numerous areas of paint loss on the base, with the uniform decal crooked. There are also stray paint marks to the uniform including beneath the ball and on the reverse, with a few cracks to the back of the head and wear around the opening. Lastly, the Reds doll has chipping over the base and a few small stains on the reverse, with a few cracks to the back of the head including a larger example.
