Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/27/2021
Featuring a desirable Charlie Conacher Hockey Awards Dinner menu augmented with the signatures of past NHL legends Gordie Howe, Jean Beliveau and Bobby Orr, this lot also offers an October 8th 1953 Red Wings program from Johnny Bower's 1st NHL game, the cover is signed by Johnny Bower, a 1971 Mattel Gordie Howe Mini-Record graded NM-MT 8 by PSA, a rarely-seen early-1970s Scotiabank “All About Hockey” mini booklet with Howe and Beliveau cover, and three antique German hockey trade cards. The Conacher menu is 7” x 9 ½” and dated June 3rd, 1971, with intact bookmark string and interior pages, with 12 signing the back cover in ballpoint including Gordie Howe, Jean Beliveau, Bobby Orr, Dave Keon, Milt Schmidt, Bobby Baun and others, with the signatures displaying well and light wear to the menu. The Red Wings program hails the Oct 8, 1953 victory over the Rangers (4-1), with Bower signing the cover in blue marker, his name is misspelled "Bauer" on the starting line-up page and is misspelled "Bouer" on the Rangers line-up page with Bower signing "#1 Johhny Bower my first game" on that page. The program exhibits light to moderate wear and one page is cut-out and missing (page 21-22). Next, the Howe/Beliveau booklet shows just light wear and toning, while the three German trade cards include a pair that show light wear, along with an example with rounded corners showing more wear.
