Magnificent hoard of four Bobby Orr 1976 Canada Cup Team Canada signed photos comes from the personal collection of Peter Mahovlich. Orr signed in bold black marker on each of the four 16x20 black and white prints of four different images shot by renowned photojournalist Doug Ball, including a spectacular action shot of the legendary defenseman carrying the puck in his Team Canada 1976 uniform. There are two signed Orr photos with his wearing the Czechoslovakia No. 4 sweater from the postgame victory celebration following Darryl Sittler’s dramatic championship-clinching overtime goal in Game 2 of the final at the Montreal Forum, including one with Montreal Canadiens greats Bob Gainey and Steve Shutt, and another shot with Orr receiving an award from two IIHF officials. Those three prints are in wonderful shape while the signed Orr print of him alongside fellow HOFers Phil Esposito and Rogie Vachon has a few diagonal scratches in the top of the Team Canada goalie’s head. Each print also has the photographer’s name handwritten in bold black marker along with the “‘76” date notation. Comes with Peter Mahovlich’s signed LOA.
Among Ball's most famous photos are the 1977 image of Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau doing a pirouette behind Queen Elizabeth II and a 1974 shot of PC party leader Robert Stanfield fumbling a football.
