Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Best known as the Executive Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations for the National Hockey League, Colin Campbell spent 10 seasons as a player including for Pittsburgh, Colorado, Edmonton, Vancouver and Detroit. The Ontario native also stepped behind the New York Rangers bench for four seasons during the 1990s. This Red Wings jersey was worn by Campbell in 1983-84, where he appeared in 68 regular-season games. A tattered CCM label is affixed to the collar, with the vintage sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 52, with a CCM crest with “R” on the reverse hem. Styled with the classic winged-wheel team crest with embroidered detailing, “4” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single white twill, with “Campbell” arching across the upper reverse in matching material. A dual tie-up fight strap is also present along with a custom-shortened hem. Sporting nice game-use with a few puck and stick marks over the front and sleeves, there is also a small hole and team repair near the right elbow. We should also note that the image used for this listing appears to show the black mark to the right of the "4" on the left sleeve as well as the black mark in the middle upper portion of the team crest, but the image is not in high enough resolution to be considered a definitive photo-match.
