A two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Edmonton Oilers in the 1980s, Czechoslovakian forward Jaroslav Pouzar wore this jersey when he played for his country at the 1976 Canada Cup. The jersey is from the personal collection of Team Canada forward Peter Mahovlich, who received it in the impromptu jersey exchange that took place on the ice of the Montreal Forum after Darryl Sittler scored the tournament-clinching overtime goal for Canada in Game 2 of the final. Pouzar, who scored twice in five games during the 1976 Canada Cup, was a member of Czechoslovakia’s consecutive gold medal-winning world championship teams in 1976 and 1977. He also had a 1976 Olympic silver medal in his trophy case along with three IIHF world championship silver medals and a bronze when he joined Edmonton, where he won the Cup in 1984 and 1985. His vintage No. 23 tie-neck jersey has no label present. It measures out to roughly a size 50 and features a multi-colored shield team crest with embroidered detailing. “Pouzar” and No. 23 are sewn on in drop-shadow, dual color canvas. Comes with Peter Mahovlich’s signed LOA plus a small autographed photo of him wearing this jersey with pride and a big smile in the wake of Team Canada’s 1976 Canada Cup win.
