A member of the prestigious Team Canada 1972 squad that represented the hockey-centric nation at the famous Summit Series against the formidable Soviets, Peter Mahovlich contributed a highlight-reel shorthanded goal in Game 2 in Toronto. Hailing from Pete’s personal collection is his “Team of the Century” team-signed jersey. It has been autographed by 24 members of Team Canada 1972, including a few multiple signatures for a total of 29 autographs. The signed jersey has Dream Weaver labeling with size “L” (50), with tackle twill letters and Peter’s No. 20, with a “Team of the Century” crest over the right breast. Summit Series hero Paul Henderson is among the 29 black marker signatures along with deceased HOFers Tony Esposito, Rod Gilbert and Stan Mikita, and HOFers Ken Dryden, Phil Esposito, Yvan Cournoyer, Jean Ratelle and Serge Savard. Deceased team members who signed are assistant coach John Ferguson, J.P. Parise, Bill White, Pat Stapleton, Brian Glennie and Rick Martin, who signed twice. Pete Mahovlich, Vic Hadfield, Dennis Hull, Rod Seiling, Ron Ellis and Dale Tallon have also signed, as well as Don Awrey and Jocelyn Guevremont, who each signed twice, and Ed Johnston, who signed three times. Comes with Peter Mahovlich’s signed LOA.
