The year 1987 marked the 15th anniversary of the iconic Summit Series between Team Canada and the Russians. The event was celebrated by a number of "Relive the Dream" gatherings, including two tribute games that were played in Hamilton and Montreal by about 16 veterans of each squad to remember the series. Each player present received a glorious gold ring to mark their participation and the example offered here was presented to Team Canada member Peter Mahovlich. Size 12 with an approx weight of 21 grams, a large red stone sits on the table surrounded by "Team Canada" and their opposition noted in Cyrillic and the years 1972 and 1987 at the top and bottom. One shank has a carved Soviet hammer and sickle with “CCCP” and “1972”, while the opposite shank sports a golden maple leaf, with “Team Canada” and “1972”. The interior band is stamped “10K Jostens”. Heavy wear from use is present, with numerous scratches and small dings covering the band and shanks and visible along edges. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Peter Mahovlich will accompany.
