Peter Mahovlich scored one of the most memorable goals for Team Canada at the 1972 Summit Series. The Montreal Canadiens center’s spectacular individual effort in Game 2 at Maple Leaf Gardens helped even the eight-game showdown against the Soviet Union at one win apiece. Mahovlich was honoured with this trophy when Team Canada 1972 was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2012. At just under 15”, an intricately designed crystal sculpture sits over a dark circular crystal base, with the WOF logo of five joined maple leaves to form a star just above the base. “Team Canada 1972” and “Peter Mahovlich 20” have been engraved over the base, with a sticker from Cascade in Toronto along the underside stating that the trophy is “Hand Cut Crystal”. This desirable keepsake remains in stunning condition and it comes from Peter Mahovlich’s personal collection along with his signed LOA plus several keepsakes from the ceremony, including four 8x10 photos of the Little M, a Canada’s Walk of Fame Team Canada ‘72 2012 Inductees CD, and a Canada’s Walk of Fame 2012 DVD.
