Entering the NHL in his late-20s and spending the majority of his career in Boston, Tim Thomas forged a short and formidable career that included winning the Conn Smythe, Vezina, William M. Jennings and Stanley Cup all within parts of nine NHL seasons. From his time in Beantown, we have a photo-matched glove and goal pads worn in the 2011-12 preseason, along with pants, knee pads, skates and extra blades all attributed to his time in Massachusetts. The glove and pads are in solid white with no identifiers, with “Thomas” embroidered to each, with light to moderate game-use exhibited including numerous puck marks to the front of the pads and over the pocket and wrist guard of the glove. Getty Image #127577210 (Sept 29, 2011 - pre-season) has been matched to a few marks visible on the glove and left pad. The pants are Reebok models in solid black that show light use, with the Reebok skates with Ed Belfour “eagle” blade holders not showing much wear, and possibly just tried-out or worn in practices. The glove and pants have also been initialed by Kay Whitmore in his capacity as goaltending supervisor of the NHL. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Tim Thomas will accompany.
