Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Joining the 380+ players to don a European uniform during the NHL lockout of 2004-05, Tim Thomas backstopped Jokerit in the Finnish SM-liiga throughout their regular-season and playoffs where they lost in the league final, and we offer a mask and pads worn by Thomas while playing with the club. First, the mask was produced by Sportmask with a decal to the interior and logo over the forehead, with a Jokerit paint scheme which includes an eagle and Kit-Kat bar with initials and dates on the backplate (the initials are presumably for his children). Heavy use is shown with surface wear, chips and marks throughout, and we should note that we received the mask without a cage, with an example from Thomas’ collection added for display purposes (a Sportmask carry/storage bag will also accompany). The pads are CCM Gatekeeper models in Jokerit colours, with “Thomas” embroidered to the left pad, with the pair showing great use with puck marks covering the surfaces. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Tim Thomas will accompany.
The following link also shows Thomas wearing the pads and mask.
