Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

Bringing Lord Stanley back to the NHL’s original American franchise after an almost 40-year absence, Tim Thomas and company finished first in the Northeast Division in 2010-11 and defeated all post-season competition to claim the Boston Bruins first Stanley Cup championship since 1972. From that victorious season, we have pads worn by the star netminder – with the right pad photo-matched to the preseason, along with a circa 2010-11 glove (the glove does not appear in any game images, so it was possibly used in practices). All in solid white with black leather accents, with “Thomas” embroidered to each, the pads are Reebok Kinetic Fit models while the Velocity model glove was produced by Vaughn. The pads show light game-use with some minor staining over the lower third of the right pad, while the glove shows more moderate use with puck marks to the pocket and wrist guard. Inventory labels presumably from the Bruins that list Thomas along with the particulars have been affixed to each (removable), with all three items initialed by Kay Whitmore in his capacity as goaltending supervisor of the NHL. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Tim Thomas will accompany.
Getty Image #104566000 (Sept 29, 2010 - PRESEASON) has been matched to numerous marks visible on the left pad, while Getty Image #104551936 (Sept 29, 2010 - PRESEASON) appears to show the dark streak within the second upper triangle on the right pad, but the image is not clear enough to call a definitive photo-match.
