Winning the Vezina and Conn Smythe while a Stanley Cup champion, Tim Thomas enjoyed a paramount season in 2011-12, and we offer equipment used by the star keeper during the following season, one that served as his final campaign with the Bruins. Featuring a blocker photo-matched to his final game played for Boston, with this occurring during the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs on April 25, 2012 vs Washington, there is also a matching-style glove and pads – with these specimens showing light game-wear, and were possibly used for a short time and/or during practices. In solid white with black leather accents, all four pieces sport no identifiers, with “Thomas” embroidered to each. Inventory labels presumably from the Bruins that list Thomas along with the particulars have been affixed to each (removable), with all four items initialed by Kay Whitmore in his capacity as goaltending supervisor of the NHL. Hailing from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Tim Thomas will accompany.
As mentioned, the pads and glove show just very light use with a few marks visible, with a bit more use present on the blocker including a number of marks across the front. Getty Images #143439472 and #143407358 (April 25, 2012 Game 7 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals) have both been matched to the pattern of marks on the front of the blocker, with their shapes, sizes and placements identical.
