A scoring champion in the AHL with Eddie Shore’s Springfield Indians, Pete Kelly played high-level hockey for almost a quarter century, which included winning consecutive Stanley Cup championships while a member of the Detroit Red Wings in 1936 and 1937. Obtained directly from his family, we have a number of interesting and desirable items including Kelly’s MPGA “Champion” golf medal from 1937, a “Pete to Reg” engraved locket with date of “13-6-37”, a 1940-41 Pittsburgh Hornets team member card – with handwritten note from Kelly on reverse, Detroit Red Wings business card, 1939-40 Pittsburgh Hornets schedule, 1941 CNR train ticket with envelope and 1930 train ticket, 1968 “Old Timers” single cuff link and 1978 “Temple De La Renommee Sportive” HOF pin (New Brunswick). The gold medal has “Pete Kelly” engraved along with a hologram and “10K”, with the HOF pin sporting “Peter Kelly” engraved to the reverse. The business card and team card show light handling wear (the business card has a crease), with the Hornets card signed in fountain pen by the team president. The remaining items show light to moderate wear unless otherwise noted.
