Original Six rivals and two of the oldest clubs in the NHL, the 2017 Centennial Classic celebrating 100 years of the world’s fastest league featured the Toronto Maple Leafs taking on the Detroit Red Wings, with the former slipping past the latter 5-4 in front of over 40,000 at BMO Field in Toronto. This complete ensemble featuring jersey, helmet, gloves, photo-matched pants and socks were worn during the match by Nick Jensen, with the jersey worn just in the second period, with his practice jersey and locker room nameplate from the game also included along with a Red Wings equipment bag (possibly Jensen’s). The jersey was produced by Reebok with “56” sizing and tackle twill team crest and numbers, with the Centennial Classic patch on the right shoulder. The team patch along with a bar code, a Fanatics label and team serial number all appear on the inside hem, with a few small stains to the jersey (likely not from game-use). The practice jersey also sports “56” sizing, with tackle twill team crest and the Centennial Classic patch on the right shoulder. The helmet is a CCM model with Red Wings and “3” decals, with the Centennial Classic sticker on the lower right reverse, while the red CCM gloves have “Centennial 17” heat-pressed, and the uniform socks show wear with marks. The pants – also CCM models - have been photo-matched, with Getty Image #639937942 (Jan 1, 2017 Centennial Classic) matched to the pattern of dark marks on the upper right reverse. The equipment bag has “Detroit Red Wings” on each side, and shows light use. A Hockeytown COA is included with the list of items noted on the envelope.
