Chosen as a first round selection by the Boston Bruins in 1997, Sergei Samsonov spent his first eight NHL seasons with the black and gold followed by time with five other clubs including Chicago. Samsonov has also represented his native Russia at every international level. From his lone partial season in Illinois where he appeared in 23 games, we have a Black Hawks jersey with desirable William Wirtz patch worn by Samsonov in 2007-08. Styled with a gorgeous partially chain-stitched Indian head team crest, the white V-neck has been accented with “14” sewn to the sleeves and verso in tackle twill along with alternate crests over each shoulder. The “WWW” crest honouring William Wirtz resides just above the right breast. The team patch sits on the inside hem, and it denotes the garment as a “Set 1” example. Sporting light to moderate wear, dark marks are visible, with blue paint transfer to the left sleeve and pilling to the interior. Getty Image #77518985 (Oct 25, 2007) has been matched to particularities within the tomahawk crest over the left shoulder including the extended gold threading visible at the bottom left corner, with the small mark on the lower left sleeve also visible, while Getty Image #77518978 (Oct 25, 2007) has been matched to particularities within the tomahawk crest over the left shoulder including the extended gold threading visible at the bottom left corner, with the two small marks on the lower left sleeve also visible.
