Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

This 1983-84 Edmonton Oilers personal Stanley Cup trophy represents the dynasty’s first of five championships in a span of seven seasons. Led by Wayne Gretzky and Conn Smythe winner Mark Messier, the Oilers ended the Islanders dynasty to reach the NHL summit. This unawarded example produced by Boffey is similar to the trophies awarded to each member of the Oilers by the NHL in a tradition dating back to 1958. At approx 13” in height, Gretzky heads up the three columns of player names engraved that include Messier, Coffey, Fuhr, Kurri and Anderson. GM and coach Glen Sather makes it a total of seven HOFers on the barrel. Sporting surface scratches and a few minor blemishes, the trophy remains dent-free and displays beautifully.
