Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
One of the most consistent players to wear a coveted captain’s “C” in the game today, Jonathan Toews has thrilled NHL fans for 13 full seasons at the time of this writing, with numerous awards earned including the Conn Smythe and Frank J Selke Trophies along with a trio of Stanley Cups. From his first Stanley Cup championship in 2009-10, we have a signed stick used by the superstar along with a signed practice jersey. First, the stick is a Bauer Vapor model with “Toews” factory graphics over the upper shaft, with the original black tape on the blade and white over the handle with “19” handwritten and a single dot. The stick exhibits light use with a few marks over the handle tape, with Toews signing the heel in silver, with the signature displaying well. The practice jersey was produced by Reebok with “58” sizing, with tackle twill team crest and “19” and “Toews” heat-pressed to the reverse, with Jonathan adding a thin black marker signature to the reverse "9". Showing light wear with burns over the sleeves, the Black Hawks wore these specific Reebok practice jerseys for a few seasons circa-2010, and we should note that according to the accompanying LOA from our consignor, the jersey was obtained at a Hawks convention and was signed in person at a Hawks season-ticket holder Christmas event.
