Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
From the era of his epic victory with Team Czechoslovakia at the 1998 Winter Olympics as well as his back-to-back Hart Memorial Trophies, we have a stick used by superstar netminder Dominik Hasek during the mid-to-late-1990s with Buffalo, with this specific type of model stick used in both 1996-97 and 1997-98. A Bauer Reactor R5000 model with “Hasek” stamped to the upper shaft, the original white but now yellowing tape remains in place over the blade, paddle and knob, with additional white tape added at some later point to rectify a considerable break at the heel. Moderate to heavier use is exhibited, with marks to the blade and paddle, with small areas of red paint transfer on the shaft. Hasek would dominate the era this stick was employed, winning the Vezina and Lester B Pearson awards in both 1997 and 1998 along with selection to the NHL First All-Star Team.
