Well remembered for his utterly booming slap shot, sending fear into opposing netminders, Al MacInnis enjoyed a lengthy HOF career that included a James Norris Trophy win along with the Conn Smythe - earned during the Stanley Cup championship of 1989. From his time in the Gateway to the West, we have a signed St Louis Blues alternate captain’s jersey photo-matched to the second and third rounds of the 2001 Stanley Cup playoffs. A CCM label with attached size “54” fly tag is affixed to the collar, with an NHL crest over the reverse hem. Styled with the classic blue note team crest administered in layered tackle twill, “2” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “MacInnis” across the affixed nameplate in single blue twill. The jersey also has custom-elasticized cuffs. Sporting great game-use with a number of puck and stick marks visible as well as a few small stains, MacInnis has signed the reverse in blue marker, with the signature remaining bright. The team patch denoting the garment as a “Playoff Set” has been screened to the inside hem, with a COA from the Blues to accompany.
Regarding the aforementioned photo-matches, Getty Image #575915 (Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals May 3, 2001) has been matched to certain particularities of the alternate’s “A” over the left breast, specifically the “inward” shape of the bottom extensions, the distinct shape of the yellow embroidered areas, and the extended yellow threading visible near the bottom right. Additionally, Getty Image #585141 (Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals May 16, 2001) has been matched to the pattern of stick marks over the lower reverse, as well as to the dark mark pattern to the right of the lower right seam, with their exact shapes, sizes and placements identical.
