Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Experiencing NHL action in over 500 regular-season contests shared amongst five different clubs, Steve Begin was a second-round draft selection, and is well known for his defensive abilities while playing at center. From his time with the Montreal Canadiens, we have a “1945-46” Centennial Game jersey from 2008-09. CCM labeling with “58” sizing is affixed to the collar (along with a Reebok label, normally removed), with NHL and Reebok crests on the bottom hem and back neckline respectively. Featuring the sacred CH team crest, the jersey has been accented with attractive tri-layer tackle twill numbers. The Centennial patch has not been affixed, with the jersey most likely originating from the Habs 2nd jersey set, worn on March 14, 2009, but as Begin was traded to Dallas on Feb 26, 2009, the jersey was never worn. The team patch numbered “A02163” has been placed on the inside hem, with a signed LOA from Steve Begin to accompany.
