Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Sporting 14 different variations of the famous “CH” crest adorning hockey’s greatest sweater, including the “C” with inserted “A” that served as the franchise’s fifth emblem worn from 1914 to 1917 including the inaugural Stanley Cup championship season of 1915-16, we offer a “1915-16” retro jersey worn by Steve Begin in the 2008-09 Centennial Game. Taking place on Dec 4, 2009 vs Original Six rival Boston, Begin scored a pair of points in the contest including a goal, and had 5 shots in his 15 shifts. A CCM label with “56” sizing is affixed to the collar with handwritten “1”, with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Adorned with the 1915-16 style team crest in tackle twill, the solid red tie-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the important centennial patch over the right shoulder. The “Set 1” jersey shows just very light wear, with no obtrusive marks. A hologram has been affixed to the second reverse “2” numbered “538446”, with the team patch over the inside hem numbered “A01379”, with a signed LOA from Begin to accompany.
