Dale Hawerchuk was still a teenager when he appeared on his O-Pee-Chee rookie card, with cards like this discovered in (25-cent) wax packs during the 1982-83 season while Dale was following up his Calder Trophy-winning campaign with more magical wizardry, much to the delight of fans in Winnipeg – could the kid play, or what?! The former Cornwall Royals’ star, after a 183-point season in his last year of junior, began his NHL career by scoring 45 goals and a rookie-record 103 points as fans around the league discovered his deft offensive skills. A special rookie card of the late great here comes to us from his family and features a bold blue marker autograph, with the Hall of Famer adding his number “10”. Card #380 is crease-free and VG-EX, with light corner wear/dings. A Letter of Authenticity from the Hawerchuk family will accompany this thought-provoking piece.
